Hi, I'm Mazz
Mazz is originally from Sydney, Australia and has been photographing since her Uncle gave her a camera.
Her love for photography led her to the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), where she attained a BA in Photo-Media. A decade later she returned to UNSW and was awarded an MART (Photo-Media). While still a teenager, Mazz started work as a freelance photographer with local newspaper The Village Voice and was then invited to join the Sydney Star Observer.
In the late 80's she moved in above a shop on Oxford Street. Here she created a studio and a dark room for processing the many thousands of photographs that were to be shared in the coming decades.
At this point, Mazz also started photographing Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parades and parties, leading to a lifelong passion for recording the spectacle and visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community at marches and Prides throughout the world.
Images from her travels are incorporated into exhibitions and art films, and have been presented at events and festivals across Europe, North America and Australia. Through her experience with photography, audio-visual and design, Mazz provides creative services, consultancy and coaching to individuals, organisations, schools and event producers. She also runs workshops and is a guest speaker.
